EDITED 10:45AM GMT: There was a major bug with grossness addiction (it was never increasing in DQ, worked fine in my tests in TQ!) which has now been fixed and a new version uploaded.

In between publishing the version I published last night, and the quick fix this morning, it appears that I've been locked out of Area57's filehosting service. Until I find a suitable replacement, that means that the only place to download the game from is MEGA.

How to Download - Newbies on Windows

If you're brand new, on Windows, and either not very good with computers or just don't want to make any decisions on graphics version right now, download this zip file, which contains both the game file and the program needed to run it.

After you've extracted your zip file, all you need to do is open git.exe and then select the file starting with DiaperQuest to run the game.

How to Download - Everyone Else

Diaper Quest was created with Inform. To play a work like this one, you need to download two different things:

1) A glulxe interpreter program (you open this program and then select the game file): many are available, Windows Git is strongly recommended for any machine that can run it (if your overzealous antivirus has a problem with area57's improved speed version, there's an older official version here). Another interpreter called Gargoyle is available on multiple platforms but is more prone to crashes. If you're having trouble consult this page.

2) The game file. Download it from:

We used to have a Windows launcher but unfortunately it is not working properly at the moment, due to our Webmaster Area57 having gone AWOL. It will download the wrong version! Do not use it.

Known Issues

• Updating to the latest version of the MacBook operating system no longer supports WINE. If this is the case for you, I'm afraid you'll need to run Windows in a Virtual Machine or otherwise fully emulate Windows to play Trap Quest on your computer using the recommended Windows Git. Your other option is to try Gargoyle (see here).
• In some interpreters, on some people's computers, undo is failing to work because the interpreter's undo buffer isn't large enough to handle the game.

CHANGELIST

MAIN CHANGES

• Christmas mode is enabled! But you should be able to disable it at will.
  • If you're a bab tester who had already enabled christmas mode, it'll be disabled for you (essentially, the standard 'off' and 'on' variables have been switched) so you'll need to manually enable it again.
  • [Diaper messing] New scene with Berri - while you are wearing christmas headgear, open an untrapped giant present and get unlucky, before you first greet Berri in the woods.
    • Berri will be trapped inside, stinky and desperate to be freed. Which you can do, easily, should you desire.
    • Failing to free her will just leave her there permanently, much like if you don't ever greet her in the woods.
    • Freeing her has a 50% chance to give you some bonus magic power, and a 50% chance to give you your own messy situation.
• A new addiction stat - grossness addiction! This represents how your body and mind reacts to gross smells and sensations. The following things that it represents are also the main ways that it increases.
  • It represents how much you enjoy the smell of used diapers.
  • It represents how much you enjoy the sensation of being put in an already-used diaper, or having someone ejaculate in your diaper. (See the bab testers section)
  • It represents how much you enjoy the experience of being facesat on by someone wearing a diaper (different levels of grossness coded for the different possible states that diaper might be in!)
  • It represents how much you enjoy the experience of being masturbated while in a used diaper.
  • [Watersports] It represents how much you enjoy your face being urinated on (as opposed to urination into your mouth, which is measured by urine taste addiction).
• Berri's predicaments with the matron and with the automated changing station in the hotel (both of them) are now public.
• Significantly improved the code for NPCs handling removing your clothing, especially during diaper changes. They are more likely to respect locks and glue that they have no way of removing, unless the game circumstances require that they MUST be able to remove your clothing and change you.
  • Certain NPCs carry around generic keys which they can use to unlock generic locks (or all locks, if bondage protection is at least partially enabled). Currently this is the guards, gladiators, mechanic, vampiress, kitsune, dominatrix and matron.
  • You can now request that these certain NPCs unlock your clothing / bondage, if it has a generic lock. (Without any points in bondage protection, many locks will only work with the specific key of the person who locked you in it.)
• NPCs now have properly tracked bladders. Well, any NPC with a bladder does, anyway. When they need to pee, and they're not following you, they will seek out a toilet or pee in their diaper, whichever is most appropriate for them.
  • Watersports (and diaper urinal use, see the Bab Testers section below) will only occur if an NPC needs to pee when they're preparing to punish you.
• New art by Borvar for when the matron gives you a diaper change.
• As you'll know if you follow the progress tracker, the crazy big thing Aika has been working on for the last several weeks, is errands.
  • You can ask friendly intelligent NPCs for various things, as a talk option.
    • The main thing you can ask them for is their held items.
  • They may decline, or they may come up with a price - you need to do something for them, or get something for them and bring it back to them.
  • Complete the errand and return to the NPC to get the agreed upon reward.
    • As long as you don't look crazy outrageous, you may even be able to calm down an NPC who was about to get angry and babify you, by having a completed errand waiting for them when they see you.
    • They should resolve the errand when they first spot you, or in some cases you can offer them the item you were supposed to retrieve (or the body part you were supposed to transform!).
  • Full list of potential errands so far:
    • Any NPC except robots:
      • Have zero wisps following you around.
        • If you have less than two wisps, you'll gain wisps until you have two.
    • Adventurer:
      • Settle her debt with the pimp.
    • Cultist:

    • Dominatrix:
      • Let her lock you in chastity

      • Reboot the robochef (might cause it to get angry!)

      • Attack another adventurer! (Not Berri)

      • Collect a delivery from the shopkeeper and bring it to her
        • As a bonus, after this, if you get her in the same room as the shopkeeper, there's a fun special scene.
    • All Robots:
      • Find a spare battery (somewhere in the hotel)
    • Shopkeeper:
      • Deliver a slave collar to the pimp
        • If you owe him money, he might put it on you after you deliver it!
    • Wench:
      • She's being attacked by a royal guard! She asks you to protect her.
    • Witch:
      • Attack another adventurer! (Not Berri)
    • Wrestler:
      • [Watersports] Be her urinal
    • I want to make a few more diaper related ones, and I will soon!
  • Most NPCs have been given an item or two that you might want to beg them for, and obviously they may gain other stuff you want, for example the key to your bondage. Apart from that, there's only a few special requests, so far.
    • If you've been given an errand from an adventurer to get the pimp to forgive her debt, you can specifically ask that of the pimp.
    • [Watersports] You can ask a wrestler, or diamond+ ranked student to be your urinal as a favour.
      • Make sure you actually need to pee when you find them after completing the errand, or it'll have been for nothing. You either use them right then and there, or waste your reward.
• Reworked the statues in the dungeon statue hall.
  • There's now exactly six butts to choose between spanking.
  • There's six effects that can happen when you spank a butt, one for each butt, but which effect occurs when you spank which butt is randomized at the start of the game.
    • There's two good effects and three bad effects, and one butt that has no effect.
  • You'll also always experience some pain.
  • You should only need to experience each bad effect once! Once you've learned which butts are the good ones and which ones are the bad ones, you can then easily avoid the bad ones.

TWEAKS

• Doubled the rate at which magic power regenerates in the background.
• Cultists can now give you a candle when you demand an item from them.
• The vine boss pit is no longer as impossible to climb out of with low dex, but it does now have two unlucky rolls you have to succeed at as well!
• The cultist veil is no longer in the elder altar room; instead you must trade with a cultist (or complete an errand).

BAB TESTERS (December 2022 unlock file)

• Two new major diaper fetish options to choose when you pick NORMAL START.
  • Used diaper wearing - you can enable several possible levels of situations, getting more and more gross, where NPCs or other game events can make you wear a diaper that's already been used, or allow an NPC to use your diaper themselves while you're wearing it.
    • The main one, currently, is the latter - several NPCs now have the option to use your diaper as a urinal (if the option is enabled).
      • They will prioritise doing this when the need to pee. (See the stuff about NPC bladders in 'main changes' above.
      • There's also a new NPC - a suited woman - who can appear in the hotel if you enable this. She has some tricks up her sleeve to do stuff to you without you even realising it at first. That's all I'll say for now, if you want to know more without working it out for yourself, you'll have to ask on Discord.
  • Diaper cumrag - if enabled, male NPCs can masturbate and ejaculate into your diaper. Gross!
• Added a new combat move for NPCs - enticing.
  • Once per combat, probably early on, an NPC can try and tempt you to your knees by saying what they are considering doing to you.
    • Depending on your arousal and relevant addiction level, you may struggle to resist taking them up on the offer and dropping to your knees (and the punishment immediately starting).
      • At super high levels, you may be forced to kneel.
      • At high levels, it will cause all of your attacks to do less damage to this NPC for the rest of the fight. How much less damage depends on how close you were to just automatically kneeling.
      • That's right, high addiction levels just went from not really that big of a deal to a pretty big deal.
• New debug command 'bladderfill [NPC]' lets you adjust the bladder contents of NPCs.
• New debug command 'set grossness addiction' lets you set your grossness addiction.

OTHER FIXES

• Thanks to Jewel, a top fan, we found and fixed a longstanding major bug where once in a blue moon, the Mansion would be created as two separate halves, one of which was only accessible via teleportation or being dragged there, and would then often result in the player being stuck in that second half.
• Fixed a bug where picking up a pink spraybottle caused a maid outfit to appear, then immediately disappear, then a new outfit appear.
• Fixed a bug where manually wearing the runic headband (priestess headwear) summoned some ritual beads, which don't do anything in Diaper Quest.
• Fixed a bug where the hotel chairs pumping urine into your diaper's padding actually hit the outside of the diaper, and just trickled down to the ground.
• Fixed a bug where the game told the player they were being slowed down for crawling, even when they weren't slowed down, or crawling.
• Fixed a bug where with the halloween content enabled, you couldn't remove the pacifier or eat around it, making the candy eating quest impossible. Instead, you can now remove the pacifier, but it steals some strength until you put it back in.
• Fixed a bug where the nurse could milk the breasts of male players with flat chests and no milk.
• Some of the custom parser error text from when you type something incorrectly referred to being a dumb slut and giving blowjobs etc. which isn't appropriate for DQ, so some babification-appropriate lines were added instead.
• Fixed a bug where tail plugs weren't removed when an NPC is putting you in a diaper.
  • Fixed a similar bug with the rocking horse trap putting you in a diaper.
• Fixed a bug where NPCs were supposed to try and put the clothing they'd removed to change your diaper back on you, but weren't. (Can't believe how long it took to detect and diagnose this!)
• Fixed a bug where the shopkeeper would be satisfied by an item you offered to avoid getting babified, but would then immediately notice you and want to babify you again.
• Fixed a bug where you could stuck in never-ending combat if an academy student grabbed your arm and then an academy staff member spotted you.
• Fixed a bug where when sex toys transformed, the new sex toy might not be properly flagged as penetrating the orifice that the old one was in.
