Diaper Quest Release 5 Version 8.0
This version's banner image is from the new predicament Berri can find herself stuck in, in the Hotel region (currently bab testers only). Art by Wishberri!
How to Download
Diaper Quest was created with Inform. To play a work like this one, you need to download two different things:
1) A glulxe interpreter program (you open this program and then select the game file): many are available, Windows Git is strongly recommended for any machine that can run it (if your overzealous antivirus has a problem with area57's improved speed version, there's an older official version here). Another interpreter called Gargoyle is available on multiple platforms but is more prone to crashes. If you're having trouble consult this page.
2) The game file. Download it from one of the options below:
Main Direct Download Link (467.8 MB - if your download is smaller, it was corrupted!)
We used to have a Windows launcher but unfortunately it is not working properly at the moment, due to our Webmaster Area57 having gone AWOL for several months at this point. If you already have it installed, feel free to continue trying to use it for now, but it might not download the new game files properly.
Known Issues
- Updating to the latest version of the MacBook operating system no longer supports WINE. If this is the case for you, I'm afraid you'll need to run Windows in a Virtual Machine or otherwise fully emulate Windows to play Trap Quest on your computer using the recommended Windows Git. Your other option is to try Gargoyle (see here).
- In some interpreters, on some people's computers, undo is failing to work because the interpreter's undo buffer isn't large enough to handle the game.
CHANGELIST
MAJOR CHANGES
- Once again, some changes to incontinence! Many people who are used to the game have found that while it can be difficult to stay out of diapers, it can be easy to avoid losing continence. Well, we're not going to change that for now. I'm happy with the balance there. But, we can still give fully continent people some embarrassing accidents, by expanding on the 'shocked expulsion' framework!
- Firstly and foremost, number 1 incontinence and number 2 incontinence have been completely separated. Each grows completely independently of the other, and you can have full continence in one and zero in the other. This took forever but should allow for significantly increased nuance when it comes to player decisions about what to sacrifice and what to focus on. (Assuming you enable messing.)
- You still automatically urinate when you go number 2, but only if you can feel the need to go AND you have above 50% continence in both number 1 and number 2 continence stats. That means that once you're relatively incontinent, you'll find your messes and wettings occurring pretty much entirely independently of each other, which could be useful in some ways, but also a nuisance with regards to how long you can stay unsoiled.
- Secondly, in recent releases, when you experience pain, it comes with a chance of partially or fully voiding your mouth, bladder or bowels. This has been expanded into a full 'shock' framework.
- The pain function has been tidied up and made more sensible in various ways which are difficult to put into words.
- The main change that you as a player will be interested in is that your chance of flinching is now based not just on the level of pain, but also your delicateness. The higher your delicateness, the more vulnerable you'll be to flinching and therefore expelling due to shock.
- There's now also a fear function. Fear works exactly the same as pain except for that with pain, you also slowly gain delicateness over time. With fear, you never gain delicateness. You just experience shock, and therefore have a chance of flinching and expelling.
- Here are the current main ways to experience fear.
- Low fear (requires medium to high delicateness for a chance of flinching):
- When you trip when trying to walk between rooms.
- When the kitsune reveals herself and you didn't just attack her (so either you tried to speak to her, or she got bored of her disguise while in the same room as you)
- When a trap shoots water into your face.
- When a car honks it horn at you in the Extra Credit Zone.
- Medium fear (as soon as you have more than minimum delicateness, you have a growing chance of flinching):
- When you are grabbed by vines
- When you enter the Hole In The Woods and begin a fight with the vine boss
- When you enter the same location as the Toilet Monster in the Mansion Painting zone
- High fear (there's always a chance of flinching, and by the time you have a medium amount of delicateness, it'll be near 100%)
- When the caged boogeymonster notices you
- When Demon Lord Xavier is unsealed in front of you
- Variable fear
- When someone sits on your face with a diaper and is about to use it (varies with diaper addiction)
- Low fear (requires medium to high delicateness for a chance of flinching):
- Firstly and foremost, number 1 incontinence and number 2 incontinence have been completely separated. Each grows completely independently of the other, and you can have full continence in one and zero in the other. This took forever but should allow for significantly increased nuance when it comes to player decisions about what to sacrifice and what to focus on. (Assuming you enable messing.)
- Difficulty settings rework!
- If you've been keeping up with the latest hentai trends, over the last year or so, you may have noticed an increase in art of RPG dungeoneers / adventurers getting caught by traps and/or wearing cursed loot that changes them from, as an example, a level 99 paladin to a level 1 baby slave. I've really enjoyed this and it's something I've tried to emulate in the game in the past, and indeed in earlier versions of the game it was more common to find yourself with a very low stat or two. However in recent years, every time I add content that drains your strength, dexterity or intelligence, even when it's walled behind the Game Hates You setting, I've received a lot of complaints.
- So my solution to this is to now try using the game difficulty setting to allow people to control how much stat drain there is in the game.
- The higher your game difficulty, the more game effects you're likely to encounter that drain your stats. At the easiest game difficulty, the game will feel how it feels right now - your main combat stats will almost certainly climb upwards over time. But the higher you set the difficulty, the more stuff there will be that you need to avoid in order to maintain those stats.
- At medium difficulties, you'll mostly find that these stat drain events are avoidable. They'll (mostly) be telegraphed and you'll just have to make certain choices in order to avoid them.
- At higher difficulties, you'll encounter the above, but you'll also likely periodically randomly encounter some completely unavoidable stat drain.
- In the Orc's poker game, when you lose, kings in your hand drain stats.
- Needle traps will sometimes drain stats.
- Breathing in pink smoke will sometimes drain stats.
- There's also a few events that can give really huge but temporary stat drains with high game difficulty.
- The fatigue rune trap (only with Game Hates You enabled too)
- First up, we now have 'curse wisps'. These operate a lot like clothing uncurse quests - you need to do something specific to get rid of them. But instead of the 'bad stuff' being that the clothing remains cursed until you complete the quest, there's instead a set punishment, and a 'punishment trigger'. If you encounter the thing that triggers the punishment, which likely takes some conscious effort to continously avoid (e.g. 'have an orgasm' or 'get too hungry') before you complete the quest, which will be something that you usually need to purposefully seek out (e.g. 'work at the brothel' or 'earn uses of the woods altar'), then the punishment happens (e.g. 'lose strength').
- These new curse wisps still exist at low difficulties, but are just more likely (or 100% likely) to instead increase a bab stat as a punishment.
- Currently, curse wisps appear in the following ways:
- A new pressure pad 'rune trap' in the dungeon.
- Something the witch can do to you while you're fighting her, if you've decided to piss her off.
- Something that can happen if you don't get lucky when touching the mansion statue's butt.
- Sometimes happens when you use the dungeon altar before it's ready.
- When you defeat a ghost, and roll a bad luck roll.
- When you eat a candy corn when you currently have no curse wisps.
- When you use the demonic altar in the Hotel (see later).
- When you have the 7 of clubs in your hand when you lose a game of poker with the orc.
- When you stay in the same room as the clairvoyant cultist for too long (e.g. if you rest there!)
- [Bab testers] When you go on a 'drunk adventure' after drinking too much alcohol.
- Each time the doom ritual progresses.
- A few specific new wisps can be obtained by:
- Encountering the robobutler after upsetting him, e.g. by repeatedly not tipping (work as a professional sub quest, speech trigger)
- The new emerald ranked lesson (lose mouthful trigger)
- Hungry Bag of Holding rework.
- There are a number of additional themes and colours that bags of holding can react to when they consume and item.
- Bags of holding will now randomly select one eligible effect to trigger when they consume an item, rather than executing all eligible triggers.
- Over time you will learn which items to avoid feeding to your bag!
- The idea here is that you shouldn't just always feed it your least useful items. Sometimes you'll need to avoid feeding it those because the potential cost is too high.
- Especially because as your game difficulty rises, the chance of core stat loss increases too.
MINOR CHANGES
- Modularized the code for diaper facesitting, both wet and messy. Now it'll be really easy to add lots more scenes where you get your face smushed into a soiled diaper - don't worry, it'll only ever be a messy diaper if you've enabled the setting (currently bab testers only).
- The demonic altar in the hotel is now in the public version, and is reworked.
- Present yourself or an item of clothing with 0 or less magic enhancement, to get a buff, and a curse wisp. The buff is better the longer it's been since you last used the altar.
- Clothing gets an enhancement rise but also the 'hostility' attribute which punishes you for engaging in combat.
- Presenting yourself gets you either...
- A reduction to incontinence and diaper addiction (prioritizing incontinence).
- A random identified rare item of clothing with a good magic enhancement.
- Present yourself or an item of clothing with 0 or less magic enhancement, to get a buff, and a curse wisp. The buff is better the longer it's been since you last used the altar.
- Pressure traps are no longer guaranteed to trigger when you step on them.
- There is a (difficult) dexterity roll to avoid triggering a pressure trap the first time you step on it.
- Every time after the first time you encounter a pressure trap, you only forget to avoid the pressure pad if you fail a bad luck roll (so approximately 25% of the time).
- Even if you forget, you still get the dexterity roll chance of avoiding it.
- A new command 'quests' lists any and all clothing and wisp quests you currently have, as well as a few other major quests that you might have going on, such as the Doom Quest or (for bab testers) Extra Credit predicament.
- The icons for the mansion paintings on the map now indicate whether they're currently accessible or not.
- Fan submitted suggestions:
- There's now a 'magic zipper' item obtainable in containers and in the shop that can transform items that have a normal crotch into ones with a zipper crotch.
- Some new 'pranks' that low-favour ditzy students can perform on you:
- Spanking
- Breast Groping
- Skirt flipping
- This will usually combo into a different prank!
- Pantsing
- This will usually combo into a different prank!
- You can now spit a mouthful of breast milk at NPCs to temporarily blind them. It will last 2, 3 or 4 turns depending on how big the mouthful was.
- [Watersports] Same with urine, except it always lasts just 2 turns.
- A new magic clothing attribute 'strength stealing' operates like cursed items removed in the (bab testers only) Extra Credit Zone - when removed, even when uncursed, it takes 1 strength point with it. The strength point is returned when you put the item back on.
- Currently this can happen when your clothing is hit by a magic dust trap but fails to transform, or if you are very unlucky when any uncursed item of clothing with no magical attribute is successfully transformed (by any means).
- When an item fails to be transformed because it has transformation resistance (usually because it's rare or because it is rare), if it currently has no magic clothing attribute, it will be given one of the bad ones!
TWEAKS
- Make up kits can be used unlimited times.
- The anchor collar (a rare item found in rare item containers) now halves trip chance while worn.
- You now (slowly) regain magic power over time.
- Extra large sex toys cannot be removed from your butt while you're wearing a chastity belt - the hole is too small.
- The amount of stimulation that sex toys do while inside you has been reduced, so hopefully you'll get less slightly ridiculous spontaneous orgasms just from wearing a butt plug.
BAB TESTERS (June 2022 unlock file)
- New scene with Berri at level 4 babification (pink dress and giant diaper), at the hole in the wall in the hotel.
- You find someone (spoiler: Berri) stuck in the hole, with a giant diaper (and empty enema syringes laying around, if your fetish settings allow for it).
- If you trigger the trap yourself, you go flying face-first into her butt.
- There's a bad luck based chance of getting any headgear you're wearing stuck. If this happens, the only ways to get loose are to remove the headgear or wait until Berri is freed.
- There's a bad luck based chance of her wetting or messing herself immediately.
- Every turn, Berri might soil herself.
- Trying to pull Berri out requires pushing your face into her diaper.
- Every turn there's a very small chance of her getting herself out.
- If you trigger the trap yourself, you go flying face-first into her butt.
- You find someone (spoiler: Berri) stuck in the hole, with a giant diaper (and empty enema syringes laying around, if your fetish settings allow for it).
- New debug command "fix luck" lets you set the game to always make you unlucky or lucky.
- Allows for good fun with the new Berri scene if you set bad luck rolls to always be unlucky, and you're wearing headgear, and you fail the dexterity roll to avoid slipping at the start.
- New art for the orc when set to only feminine NPCs, by Borvar.
- Improved the wonky stuff that happens when you try to pick up equippables, especially the pink spraybottle, while in the final room of the Extra Credit Zone.
- A few more improvements to the DDR predicament. The big one is that instead of the number of spectators just being a number that is updated in the narration, now actual bystander NPCs enter the location each turn.
- Fixed a bug where in the Extra Credit Zone, glued items dropped to the ground when you reached the final room, rather than staying attached to you.
- Fixed a bug where anal beads automatically reworn at the end of an Extra Credit lesson would have 0 beads inside you.
OTHER FIXES
- Fixed a serious and long-standing bug where friendly NPCs weren't noticing when your appearance suddenly became more outrageous right in front of them.
- Fixed a serious and long-standing bug where chastity devices weren't always being treated as covering the genitals, which allowed them to be easily removed by NPCs, and also sometimes even by the player.
- Fixed two bugs with the orc poker game properly identifying straights - one where it didn't identify them correctly at all, and another where it didn't identify straights to the Ten correctly (i.e. where the Ace counts as a Six).
- Fixed a bug where the orc didn't actually leave when the game said he did, after being attacked by the player or the boogeymonster.
- Fixed a bug where the kitchen knife no longer actually destroyed clothing.
- Hopefully fixed a bug where the game wouldn't understand you when you tried to pull at the vines grabbing Berri.
- [Urine] Fixed a bug where the code to deal with academy staff enforcing locked toilet supervision rules was just completely borked.
- Fixed a bug where the wearing restrictions for chastity cages (based on their sizes), was accidentally too strict.
- Fixed a bug where the shopkeeper only properly handled reclaiming stolen clothing, and not other stolen items.
- Fixed a bug where if the shopkeeper reclaimed a stolen bag of holding, the items that were in your bag remained in your inventory rather than dropping to the ground.
- Fixed a bug where poking the orc to tell him you wanted to play a game of poker wasn't working properly.
- Fixed a bug where the nurse background could summon a bandage that was for sale in the shop, which would cause it to enter a glitched state.
- Fixed a bug where the player, when addicted to a bodily fluid, e.g. breast milk, was still feeling low (and therefore being punished with intelligence loss) after drinking the correct liquid.
- Fixed an issue in the tutorial where you could kneel at points when you hadn't been directed to, and then get stuck on your knees and therefore unable to progress.
- Fixed a bug where human female NPCs could continue to be abducted by the cultists after the doom ritual had either completed or been successfully prevented.
- Fixed a bug where if an item of clothing transformed into an item of clothing that was currently in the shop, the transformed item was counted as still being owned by the shopkeeper.
- Fixed a bug where curse quests weren't resolving properly on individual diapers in a multi-layered diaper stack.
- Fixed a bug where if an item of clothing transformed into an item of clothing that was currently in the shop, the transformed item was counted as still being owned by the shopkeeper.
- Fixed a bug where enemies that slink away after defeat were not being given any 'boredom', so if you stumbled back upon them immediately, they'd be all ready to fight you again right away.
- Fixed a bug where academy students who you defeated in combat didn't actually leave, even though they said they did.
- Fixed a bug where the first turn you enter a body of water doesn't get you wet or clean you.
- [Messing] Fixed a bug where if you chose to dig deep to hold in mess even when cramping, the pain would often cause you to mess anyway.
- Fixed a bug where many domination attempts were using the wrong scene.
- Fixed a bug where an error report could occur when a mixture of bodily fluids dripped to the ground.
- Fixed a bug where a mansion painting could spawn in the warp portal room, leading to a clash on the north wall.
- Fixed a bug where there was no way to distinguish between smoke bombs, sometimes rendering them all unusable.
- Fixed a bug where the kitsune could give you the midnight tanto even if it was already in your possession (sometimes removing blessing).
- Fixed a bug where glued and cursed sex toys could slip out from being too small.
- Fixed a bug with the tutorial where the guard couldn't trip the player.
- Fixed a bug where Berri was always interested in you when you found her, when the intended functionality was that in most situations, you are required to greet her.
- Fixed a bug where you could try to automatically stand up even when you're not able to stand up.
