NB Patrons: You will need to manually enable christmas content in the seasonal content submenu in 'NORMAL START'. For everyone else, it's compulsory!

How to Download:

On Windows? There's now an executable launcher, made by area57. It'll download the latest version of the game for you and lets you start a game with a single click of a button. Oh, and every time you open it, it'll check if there's a new version, and you'll be able to update to the new version from within the launcher! Just download the executable from here, and then run it: https://cloud.area57.info/index.php/s/DQLauncher/download
It should install locally to your user, and therefore not need any admin permissions. If you get a message about a font that couldn't be installed, just skip it.

Diaper Quest was created with Inform. To play a work like this one, you need an interpreter program: many are available, Windows Git is strongly recommended for any machine that can run it, this includes Macs - you should use WINE.

Known Issues

  • With the Christmas content, your appearance rating is bugged on the first turn, but fixes itself on the second turn.
  • Submitting to the bouncer trap seems to be broken.
  • I'm getting reports of spontaneous crashes in Gargoyle. Use it at your own risk. If you do, it's strongly recommended to use roguelike saving.

Changelist:

  • Experimental change to player motion. You can no longer fail to move between rooms unless a monster or environment object manages to stop you. That is to say, you can't fail to move just because of massive body parts or similar. Tripping still makes you fail to move.
    • Each turn your 'movement reduction' value is compared to a d10. If the d10 rolls below or equal to your movement hindrance value, it takes you two turns to move between rooms. This means that you'll be getting hungry and thirsty faster, and NPCs will get two actions. The things that add to movement reduction are:
      • Anklecuffs, hobble skirts, displaced trousers / short
      • Huge bellies
      • Being on your knees
      • Obstacles in rooms (each room has a static obstacle rating, this is almost always 0)
      • While upright:
        • High heels with low heel skill
        • Big and/or well used diapers
        • Big toys in orifices
        • Huge heavy ass cheeks
    • The things that add to movement (i.e. subtract from movement reduction) are:
      • Rollerskates (the bonus is large, but only active while you're upright)
      • Clothing with the 'speed' magical attribute
      • Catgirls get a big bonus to movement, minus a bit for each item of clothing worn (not including minor things like piercings and toys). This can become a negative bonus if you're wearing loads and loads of clothes.
      • Players who are wearing mittens reverse the movement penalty for being on your knees into a bonus.
    • To balance NPCs getting two actions, NPCs who only just notice you in the first turn can't attack straight away in the second turn, and also NPCs are on average worse at preventing you from running away during a fight.
  • [Messing] As you may or may not be aware, with messing enabled in DQ, you don't get hungry over time. This was a balance change made to make messing more of a challenge for the game to trick you into eating stuff, and therefore needing to go. Added a new way that the game can make you want to go, in the form of 'magic hunger' - quite simply this makes the player hungry until they eat something. While magically hungry, hunger mechanics work as normal - lowered strength, and strength can decrease further over time if you leave yourself hungry for too long.
    • Touching the hand of the woods statue, and getting the (25% chance) bad outcome while you have some magic power stored up, will give you a permanent curse that will make you hungry every time you use magic.
    • Fairies can make you hungry in this way as one of their attacks.
    • Slightly related: anything that 'makes your stomach digest its contents at double speed' will turn hunger mechanics on for its duration.
  • More unique NPC speech during punishment actions written by Crispy. Lots of stuff for the mechanic, and also some diaper changing flavour for the demoness and gladiator.
  • Diamond teacher Kaylee has been reimagined by Owlcan.
  • Bullies starting a fight, and then a teacher coming to break up the fight, now makes a bit more sense from a flavour perspective. The funtionality is still the same - you get blamed even if you didn't fight back.
    • In the future there'll probably be a special joint detention.
  • The three demon lord demon realm punishments can now happen in any order.
    • The demon queen punishment now has cutscene art, by Hyro.
  • [Messing] New item - pocketwipes. This single use item allows you to clean yourself from messed underwear that you could have removed normally if it wasn't messed.
  • Unvisited tiles have a pale yellow hue on the map, to help you keep track of where you've just seen but not yet entered.
  • The chance of good outcomes (stat increases) when touching the woods statue has changed from 75% to a scaling chance depending on how high your stat already is. At 1/30, it has a 92% chance of success. At 10/30, it will have a 77% chance of success. At 29/30, it will only have a 45% chance of success.
  • Open topped vessels have significantly increased outrage ratings when they contain breast milk.
  • Tidied up the code for NPCs noticing the player wetting diapers. It should now be more consistent with whether the crotch of the player's diaper is fully exposed or not.
  • If your incontinence is low enough to not automatically be given the giant rattle, you can now be given the fairy wand from the sword in the stone. 50% chance if diapered, 100% chance otherwise.
  • Washing unworn clothing in a body of water removes glue. Washing your hair in water automatically washes your headgear at the same time.
  • Fixed some errors with the appearance rating of underwear (including diapers) under clothing. NPCs can no longer see the cleanliness state of underwear which is underneath other (non-see-through) clothing, without checking. If the shape of a diaper is visible through clothing, then the appearance rating of the diaper depends on the bulk level of the diaper and nothing else.
  • Fixed a bug where a male character's penis was still getting rendered and clipping with some underwear.
  • Fixed a bug where a predicament meant only for TQ was appearing in DQ.
  • Fixed a bug where the maid dress didn't correctly move existing clothing to the pink wardrobe when it appeared.
  • Fixed a bug where the PC monitor in the hotel room could turn on when there was nothing to show and cause a table error.
  • Fixed a bug where getting up on the stage could summon a guard who had been perma-defeated by the boogeymonster.
  • Fixed a bug where some unique trousers could appear in the dungeon shop.

Bab Testers:

  • [Diaper face mushing] New art from Rosie-BRS for when you are dunked into a diaper pail.
  • Official predicament world bystander art is in progress by Relyet. So far we have 10 of the planned 30 implemented.
  • You can no longer get access to the extra credit zone if you have locked clothing, unremovable clothing, or clothing cursed with the quest of waiting until your next lesson.
  • Viewing 'real world internet' footage of yourself significantly increases in-game humiliation (based on how humiliating the footage is, and how many views it has so far - this means that the longer it's been since the footage was created, the harder the humiliation hit). There's now multiple ways to view them:
    • Every turn you spend in the hotel bedroom with your PC monitor after the scene with your 'real life friend'.
    • Every turn you spend in the hotel 'security room' with the security monitors.
    • The robobutler can now drag you to the security room.
  • A new sapphire predicament: the vibe pose. To unlock less humiliating clothing you must pose lewdly in front of a camera while getting stimulated by a vibe wand, and without knowing exactly when the camera will take its photo.
  • [Messing] A new emerald predicament: The smoothie van.
    • You must serve smoothies to six people from your position locked in a smoothie van. Some NPCs will require convincing as they go past. If you fail to convince them, you can always try again with a more intense method next time they walk past.
    • NPCs have a randomised amount of base enjoyment from the smoothie, reduced by the level of extent you had to go to, to convince them to try one.
    • You can choose from multiple options of how to make the smoothie, these are explained in the game, and can make the smoothie more or less enjoyable on average, but each option has different risks and costs.
    • Depending on how much the bystander ends up enjoying the smoothie, they'll drink a certain amount. Then they'll follow the instructions on the front of the van and forcefeed you the rest through your funnel gag.
    • Once you're released from the van, your diaper becomes visible because your apron only covers your front. How long did it take you to serve six customers? Were you able to hold it in, or are you going to need to sprint home to avoid getting caught with a very shameful appearance?
  • Fixed a bug where the plug lesson would promote the player if nobody at all managed to successfully get a plug in their butt.
